AttainXR Acquires Xennial Digital IP Portfolio, Ensuring Continuity for Training Application Users
March 20, 2026
AttainXR LLC has entered into an Intellectual Property Rights Assignment Agreement with Direct.com LLC (d/b/a Xennial Digital), effective March 20, 2026, acquiring rights to ten VR training applications developed by Xennial Digital over the course of its eight-year history.
The transaction is structured as a wind-down assignment, reflecting Xennial Digital's decision to cease active operations after nearly a decade serving workforce development, aviation training, and career and technical education markets. The agreement is designed specifically to provide continuity for existing customers and partners who have deployed these applications — ensuring that the training content you rely on has a path forward.
What's Being Transferred
The agreement covers Xennial's ownership claims to the following applications it had created:
- Aviation Maintenance Applications - This includes Aircraft Towing which was built by Xennial. It also includes Xennial's IP rights to the familiarization and general visual inspection applications built in collaboration with other partners.
- K12 STEM Applications - Attain has acquired Xennial IP rights to the Biology Dissection Lab.
- Workforce Development Applications - This includes the Intro to Construction and Virtual Shift or Soft Skills training applications.
These applications were developed in collaboration with other partners and Attain has engaged with many to get clarity on any claims they to this IP.
Why AttainXR
AttainXR was approached by IP stakeholders to take on maintenance and platform costs associated with these applications, with the explicit goal of keeping them available to their students and instructors. Rather than allow the portfolio to go dark with Xennial's closure, AttainXR agreed to support an orderly wind-down and assume stewardship of the software rights.
This is consistent with AttainXR's mission: expanding access to immersive, skills-based training for workforce and career development programs.
What This Means for Existing Users
If you have previously licensed or deployed any of these applications, AttainXR intends to honor the terms of those agreements with Xennial, but will need to move the commercial relationship. For customers that had been using the Xennial XR Platform, QR Studio has created a replacement and Attain will support the transition as requested.
We'll be reaching out directly to known customers and partners in the coming weeks. If you have questions in the meantime, please contact us at contact@attainxr.com.
